Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a
Division 10 Project Manager/Estimator.
Summary
The Division 10 Project Manager/Estimator estimates, schedules, evaluates, and purchases Division 10 products and efficiently processes commercial construction projects to satisfy customer s material, schedule, and our internal financial requirements.
Essential Functions
Reviews plans and specifications for product quantities and details, and prices of the products through Comsense and by soliciting vendor quotes. Provides accurate cost estimates for bid preparation.
Using product knowledge, details Division 10 products in the preparation of shop drawings and submittals for review by the customer and architect. Identifies conflicts, code issues and other design questions to the salesperson and architect.
Evaluates vendor quotes for accuracy and places product orders for large and small projects in a timely manner in order to meet the construction schedule and purchase within the project budget. The purchasing function of the position has potentially large dollar and scheduling impact on a project and the project s potential profitability and therefore attention to detail, accuracy and promptness are crucial.
Ensures accuracy of product orders and compliance with drawings, specifications and approved submittals and shop drawings.
Communicates effectively with internal and external customers as well as architects both verbally and in writing
Follow-up correspondence in writing (email primarily)
Responsive to returning phone calls in a timely manner
Communicate with factories and suppliers. Track deliveries and keep the GC informed
Communicate with installation supervisor and resolve product issues and delivery schedule issues
Identifies and processes all changes per the customer s direction and as required
Prepares direct entry sales orders and purchase orders
Produces fabrication work orders
Coordinates project submittal process
Provide close-out documents as required
All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
2 year degree in Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Technology or equivalent experience
3 years in the Division 10 industry preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Products, including but not limited to Excel, Word and Outlook
Effective time management skills and ability to stick to deadlines required
Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Must be able to read and understand construction contracts and interpret blue prints, specifications and plans
Knowledge of Division 10 specialties products
Must have excellent communication skills and positive interpersonal skills
Ability to build solid relationships with customers and peers within the industry
Ability to multi-task and handle all types of scopes of projects
Detail oriented
Strong mathematical skills
Physical Demands
The position is primarily sedentary though must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; stand; walk; and reach or lift using hands or arms. Work Environment
This job operates primarily in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
